What is TEDxYouth@TheSchool?
TEDxYouth@TheSchool is the The School at Columbia University’s newest, biggest, and most exciting project! We are an independently organized TEDxYouth event that holds a 1-day conference every fall for middle school students from The School at Columbia University. Via live speakers, performances, and TEDTalks, TEDxYouth@TheSchool will electrify students with new ideas and provide a forum for them to connect and to exchange ideas of their own. Students will have the opportunity to interact during interval periods that feature live-streaming videos from other TEDxYouth events from around the globe, social media networking stations, and informal discussions with like minded youth from the New York City area.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@TheSchool, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxYouth@TheSchool event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
